Great minds think alike: Constantin Noica and Timothy Gallwey

"How to make that potentiality to be transformed in an act? (..)
An Edison said that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Everything changes suddenly: then it means that intervention from outside is not only possible, but it becomes mandatory: the coach appears.Because everything in great, performance culture happens like in great, performance sports: under the action of a coach. (..)
Throughout a lifetime, the candidate for performance must sweat. (..)
So where are our coaches? ” (The 22, Constantin Noica)

In the 70's, philosopher Constantin Noica wrote, in Romania, about the need for coaching, about inner obstacles overcome by outer obstacles, "built" consciously.
At quite the same time, Timothy Gallwey was writing in the United States about the need for coaching, about inner obstacles overcome by outer obstacles, "chosen" consciously. Both Noica, and Gallwey trusted in "the each of us life`s intention", and in each person`s ability to live on the level of her/his performance. They both understood the need to be accompanied - to receive full and trustful attention of an other person. One called this other person "antrenor"(Romanian word for coach) the other a coach.

Well, today is Romania National Day - and I want to honor it highlighting this interesting synchronicity.
